when we multiply variables that contain exponents, how do we simplify?

geerky42 (geerky42):

you just add exponent together, for example: \(\Large x^2x^3 = x^{2+3}\)

geerky42 (geerky42):

does that answer your question? @alliekat06

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's it? Wth!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need to read the chapters again!

geerky42 (geerky42):

well, you only can do that if variables are same.

geerky42 (geerky42):

is that all? @alliekat06

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What if the variables are not the same?

geerky42 (geerky42):

well, then you cannot simplify it, so you just left it as the way it is \(\Large x^2y^3\) cannot be simplified

Ooh ok. Thank you so much for your time!
