How does temperature affect the solubility of a gas phase solute in a liquid solvent? Answer As the temperature increases, the rate of solution increases. As the temperature increases, the rate of solution decreases. As the temperature increases, the rate of solution remains the same. As the temperature decreases, the rate of solution does not change.
higher temperatures increases the solubility.
when a solute is added to a solvent the energy associated with the solvent medium generally breakes the bonds between solute particals and separates them. these being so tiny become invisible to us. this we call solubility of solid. In many cases this happens at room temperature. Ex: sugar ,common salt etc dissolves in water. If the energy of the solvent is not sufficient to break the bonds at room temp. we have to to provide extra enrgy for this purpose. Hence we HEAT. Hence increase of temperature increases the solubilities of substances. For ex. we can make more common salt or sugar to dissolve in a given volume of water by heating. However ther are some exceptions like CaSO4 where solubility appears to decrease with rise in temperature.
