I just need to know if this problem is possible. Sqrt(y)= -5

hartnn (hartnn):

you want to find 'y' ? just know the fact that the answer to a square root can never be negative (in real domain)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I need to find y. I forgot to put the negative outside the square root. It's suppose to be -sqrt(y)=-5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@hartnn

hartnn (hartnn):

oh, then you get \(-\sqrt y =-5 \implies \sqrt y =5\) if you square both sides, you will get 'y' :)
