MEDAL AND FAN!!!!! Colleges report the SAT I scores of the entering freshman class. Instead of a median score, many schools give a range of scores to represent the middle 50% of the class, such as a range from 520 to 610 for math scores. Explain what this range describes as well as the advantages of using it rather than a median score.

|dw:1406307475235:dw| If you look at a typical box and whiskers plot, giving the median will give one point of the whole distribution. Giving the middle 50% is giving the box (between Q1 & Q3. Think of the advantages of doing this, taking into consideration that the median could be skewed within the box.
