Can someone please answer this for me? A length of a rectangle is four times the width. What is the perimeter of a rectangle with width 13 inches? A. 52 inches B. 60 inches C. 65 inches D. 130 inches

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let L and W stand for length and width respectively. We're told that the length of a rectangle is four times the width; as an equation, this would be L = 4W. Now recall that the perimeter of a rectangle is P=2L+2W. Thus, in terms of width only, we see that perimeter is P=2(4W)+2W = 10W. Now what do you get for P when W=13? Does this make sense? :-)

so is it A?

What is 13*10? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

130 so its D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct; but do you see why we get that for the answer based off the explanation I gave earlier?
