Divide the polynomial using long division or synthetic division. vvvvv http://oi59.tinypic.com/2ujm9f7.jpg I'm not sure if you're able to do either division. I've only been taught to be able to synthetic/long divide with simple binomial terms, like c+2 for example, so is this even possible?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

You can certainly try long division.

\[\frac{c^3-3 c^2+18 c-16}{c^2+3 c-2}=c-6+\frac{38 c-28}{c^2+3 c-2} \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got the same answer up until the remainder part. How did you get 38c-28 compared to my 42c-4?
