@Nanalew

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haven't read that book sorry...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks anyway. Do you know anyone who could help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jboy_52

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i havent read the book

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks anyways

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I haven't read the book but in terms of diction look at what specific words the author uses to describe the human rights issue. usually the words will have a negative connotation (woe, misery, bondage) meaning that the author holds a negative view on the infringement of this human right. Characterization is the characters. watch how they interact with the issue and the interaction between the issue and the main character likely holds the main message the author is sending, whether the character shows favor or disgust for the human right's issue. Sorry for not being able to help more. I haven't read the book. Any questions on specific quotes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have helped but I still don't know what to write i did the first paragraph but i cant seem to be able to do the second part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the second paragraph on?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the second paragraph is what i asked

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know where a second paragraph is mentioned in the question. The question only says to write 3-5 sentences.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Response Paragraph 1 Three to five sentences long Explain how the resolution of the plot indicates the author's point of view. Show what human rights issues took place in the conflict and how the author used the resolution to generate a reaction in the reader. Use proper spelling and grammar. Response Paragraph 2 Three to five sentences long Explain how the diction and characterization indicate the author’s point of view about a human rights issue. . Provide specific examples from the novel. Use proper spelling and grammar.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have done the first part not the second because i cant seem to do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. So I read up about the book a bit. You'll want to focus on the diction first. So where does the author talk most about the human rights issue and what exact words does she use?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not being very clear. So you obviously know the author's opinion about the issue because you can answer the first question. How does her opinion relate to the words she uses?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

See i dont know what words she used. This is my poorest subject.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, that's a good grasp of the opinion. Since the author's view is feminist, what words did she use to convey this. Do you have the text of the book with you to find it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont have the book. I looked the book up online.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you read it or have any experience with the text?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes i did. I know that Janie was raised by her Grandma (Nanny) with white folks. Nanny was in slavery, and was raped. Janies best friend is Pheoby. Janie is black, and Nanny's wishes is for janie to marry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's a good start. I found the text and some examples for you: "Where he left her?—What he done wid all her money?—Betcha he off wid some gal so young she ain’t even got no hairs—why she don’t stay in her class?—" Here's an example of the characterization part of the question. The characters are defining the character based on her husband, not really paying attention to the woman that she is. Additionally, the slang like "wid," "ain't," and, "betcha" could show that the opinions of the author on this type of judgment are low.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so Janie is being defined based on her mate, and how wealthy she is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But that goes with what I said for the First response paragraph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly, this is where it gets difficult. The questions still deals with the authors opinion, but the second question asks for how the author shows the opinion through the EXACT WORDS AND CHARACTERS in the story :). The quote is from chapter 1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That sounds good, though the last sentence should specify the nature of the "poor" opinion because the current wording implies that the opinion itself is poor, not the subject of the opinion

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what should i change? or tips to make it better?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It could be changed to something like "the opinion of the author about this is poor" or something along those lines.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont want you to just give me the answer. that would be wrong of me. i just need a little more guidance

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks so much for all your help. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem :) anything else you need help with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not at the moment but i will more than likely in the future. you are a lifesaver

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you're welcome :) I'll be going then, best of luck on the assignment.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks
