A Pythagorean triple is said to be "primitive" if the greatest common divisor of a, b, and c is 1. Use trial and error to find a primitive Pythagorean triple other than (3, 4, 5).

thank you!

OpenStudy (mrnood):

@barbillus @jaida.115 5,6,7 is not a Pythagorean triple. 5^2+6^2= 61 7^2=49

i just read the question and solved it according to it, but if the Pythagorean theorem should be used, then 7,24,25 ; 5,12,13; 9,12,15 ; 7,24,25 should be used

OpenStudy (mrnood):

@barbillus The question says "Use trial and error to find a primitive Pythagorean triple" so you did not solve it accordingly..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MrNood, i see your point, but the first sentence infers that if gcd of any three numbers is 1, then it is primitve; apparently i did not notice the Pythagorean triple part, so youre right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anyway 5,12,13;7,24,25;9,12,15 will do
