PLEASE HELP!! FAN AND MEDAL!!
Despite my knowledge that too much TV-watching isn't good for me, my favorite thing to do is watch television. I understand that I have to experience life and learn about the world in different ways. I know all of this; however, I still find it difficult to pull myself away from the television unless there's something very pressing that I have to handle. Which phrase from the passage indicates that the author is repeating the main point? "Despite my knowledge" "I understand that" "I know all of this" "however, I still" I believe this is the final answer choice ^^, but can somebody please verify that?
what is your final answer choice?
"however, I still"
It should be "I know all this". The author is stating these things: He knows that( quote) "despite my knowledge that too much TV-watching isn't good for me, my favorite thing to do is watch television. I understand that I have to experience life and learn about the world in different ways. " He's restating his previous sentences in one simple sentence. "I know all this".
Thank you @study100 !!
Seems like what's he talking about is the effect of television over individual's life, which is the main point.
You're welcomed :)
Tell General Howard I know his heart. What he told me before, I have it in my heart. I am tired of fighting. Our Chiefs are killed; Looking Glass is dead, Ta Hool Hool Shute is dead. The old men are all dead. It is the young men who say yes or no. He who led on the young men is dead. It is cold, and we have no blankets; the little children are freezing to death. My people, some of them, have run away to the hills, and have no blankets, no food. No one knows where they are—perhaps freezing to death. I want to have time to look for my children, and see how many of them I can find. Maybe I shall find them among the dead. Hear me, my Chiefs! I am tired; my heart is sick and sad. From where the sun now stands I will fight no more forever. What impact does the repetition of the phrase "is dead" have on the passage? It emphasizes the loss of leadership among Chief Joseph's people. It acknowledges the superiority of Chief Joseph's enemies. It points to the defiant spirit of Chief Joseph and his people. It is meant to inspire the audience to take revenge on Chief Joseph's enemies. @study100
(quote) "He who led the young man is dead." This line shows that the people lost their leader. Who is "he"? The "he" here is Looking Glass, the old men, Ta Hool, who were all dead. They could've just said for short, "our leaders are all dead" but they're lenthening everything by naming all the people who are death. So definitely Answer A :) emphasizing their loss of leaders.
who are dead****
Thanks!!
