Although Walt Whitman and Emily wingspaninson employed different styles, some of the broad themes of their works were the same: nature, death, immortality, and religion.
Do you think the common themes in these works from masters of American literature still have the same importance in modern literature? Or are such themes now too well-worn to build original works that are appealing to a modern audience? If so, are there other themes that have replaced them? Explain your opinion with examples from materials you’ve read in school or on your own.
I can't give you an example, but I think these themes have taken a particular position in everyone's reduced opinion of them. However, I do believe these themes can be revived if a wise, thought-provoking poet were to inspire the themes once again.
