This is my science homework but it's more math than science...please help. As shown in the following diagram, an empty 1,000mL container has a mass of 250g. When filled with a liquid, the container and the liquid have a combined mass of 1300g. Empty : 250.0g Filled:1300g What is the density of the liquid? (1)1.00 g/mL (2)1.05 g/mL (3)1.30 g/mL (4)0.95 g/mL (P.S. I'm not sure how to show the diagram so it might be in the comments...if I figure it out).

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

the mass of the liquid = mass of filled container - mass of empty container

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

density = mass of liquid / volume of container

That I understand but what is the Volume? It doesn't say.

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

- its in the first line of the question...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1,000mL?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

yes

thank you so much :) ...I feel a little slow XD

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

lol thats ok
