What is the formula for finding the volume of a rectangular prism? Give an example of you finding the volume of a rectangular prism. @phi
The formula is in your notes, right?
It's in my online text book.
and what does it say?
The Volume of a Rectangular Prism V equals l w h Where l equals length, w equals width, and h equals height @phi
@study100
Oh nvm you're back lol
ok. now part 2. pick some reasonable sizes for the prism (it's just a box or a book shaped thing)
3,6,2?
you should give units (like inches, feet, meters, etc)
Can you help me with this and the next question fast because I have to call the teacher in 20 minutes.
And okay
3L 2W 6H
the L, W and H stand for length, width and height people would say (for example) 3 inches x 2 inches x 6 inches
But wouldn't it sound better if I said 3L because 3 length x 2 width sounds a little weird.
people don't label with L, W and H (though it would make sense to!) they just say the units (like inches)
Alright i'll say the unit.
So how would I answer this question if my teacher asked it on the phone?
you start by saying you have a prism with dimensions length 3 inches width 2 inches and height 6 inches multiply the 3 numbers to get the volume in *cubic inches*
That's it?
yes
Okay one last question.
