Please Help? I honestly do not know anything about this topic so I would really like it if you would help to guide me towards the answer by teaching me! Give the equations for the two possible anaerobic respiration reactions.

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

@RedNeckOutLaw @Vincent-Lyon.Fr Can you maybe possibly help me?

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

I'm not trying to cheat, I would actually really appreciate help on this topic. I'm not even really sure what anaerobic respiration is.

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

@sloths

OpenStudy (redneckoutlaw):

Ummm

OpenStudy (redneckoutlaw):

glucose --> ethanol + carbon dioxide + energy???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well anarobic means there's no oxygen for starters

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

Really?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep anarobic respiration is basically reactions that make energy without oxygen

OpenStudy (redneckoutlaw):

So am i right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Glucose (broken down to) → Ethanol + Carbon Dioxide (CO2) + Energy (ATP) C6H12O6 → 2C2H5OH + 2CO2 + Energy Glucose (broken down to) → Lactic Acid + Energy (ATP) C6H12O6 → 2C3H6O3 + Energy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

equations^

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

But what is it exactly? Like what is anaerobic respiration? I'm sorry for being dumb, I am just confused. ;-;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first one creates gasses, its how they ferment beer and things. it makes bubbles when it ferments because it creates gas the second one is usually in muscles, like when you work out a lot or your muscles are strained, they don't get enough oxygen so they start using glucose and making lactic acid, which is what makes you sore

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://www.buzzle.com/articles/aerobic-and-anaerobic-respiration.html this website is a better explanation

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

Oh. But, like, what IS anaerobic respiration, Is it like photosynthesis, Cellular respiration.. I'm very confused I'm sorry >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha its cellular

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

OH ok, Thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure haha no problem
