How do you factor completely:-9a2 + 18a - 27

OpenStudy (bradely):

-9a2 + 18a - 27 First divide by -3 -3(3a^2-6a+9) Source: http://www.mathskey.com/question2answer/

Thank you both a lot!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do you divide it by 9 or -9

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

all right start by taking -9 common u'll have \[-9[a^2-2a+3]\] now see u have to factor \([a^2-2a+3]\) using \[x=\frac{-b(+-)\sqrt{ b^2-4ac} }{ 2a }\] are u familiar with this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thank you so much!

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

so now only take this equation \[a^2-2a+3=0\] so solving it using the above formula u'll have \[a=\frac{ 2 \pm \sqrt{4-4*3} }{ 2 }\]

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

now can u do it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can. you want me to show you? is that what you are asking?

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

nope if ure confident its ok ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am! thanks for the help, I am grateful!

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):
