having issue with this question Russ and Norma camp took a group of senior citizens to a premium Toronto blue jays game. They purchased 22 tickets. Some of the tickets were field level bases seats while the rest were field level infield seats. The cost of the tickets was 1334. How many of each type of ticket did they buy? In the action seats $210 Premium Dugout seats $73 Field Level Infield $71 Field level bases $52 100 Level outfield $36 500 Level $14

OpenStudy (phi):

x= number of Field level bases ( each cost $52) y = number of Field Level Infield ( each cost $71) number of tickets is 22 if x is the number of Field level bases and y is the number of the other type how do you write down their sum ?

OpenStudy (ray_sihota):

52x+71y=1334 1 equation x+y=22

OpenStudy (phi):

yes can you solve? one way is multiply the second equation by -52 (all terms and both sides) then add this new equation to the first equation. (the x's will cancel out)

OpenStudy (ray_sihota):

yes got it just having the issue writing the equation. Thank you so much.
