A figure of speech placing two ideas that are very different in meaning, together. This is used in rhetoric to balance out contrasting ideas in parallel arrangements of words. A. Antithesis B. Puns C. Alliteration D. Irony @adropofsweetness

Irony or Pun???

OpenStudy (chrisisdope1):

But If It Was Me I will Go With Pun

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is A. It is not Pun. An antithesis is a figure of speech in which an opposition or contrast of ideas is expressed by parallelism of words that are the opposites of, or strongly contrasted with, each other, such as “hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins”

Pun is word play. It is not pun. It is not Alliteration because that's when words start with the same letter. Irony is the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect. It is Antithesis.
