why doesnt anyone help me:(

OpenStudy (oleg3321):

Bill is able to save $35/week after working part-time and paying his expenses. These two formulas show his weekly savings: f(1) = 35, f(n) = f(1) + f(n-1) for n > 1 f(n) = 35n Which one of these formulas show the sequence written recursively and which shows it written explicitly? Justify your explanations. Use the recursive formula to make a table of values for 1 ≤ n ≤ 5. Show your calculations. Explain what your table means. Use any formula of your choice to find f(40). Explain why you chose that method and what your answer means. Show your calculations. Given the sequence of numbers: 5, 6, 8, 11, 15, 20, 26, 33, 41,… Explain whether or not this sequence can be considered a function.

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

:) :P will help in few sec

OpenStudy (oleg3321):

i already did the first problem but need help with the second third and fourth please

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

whats ur answer for the first ?

OpenStudy (oleg3321):

f(n) = f(1) + f(n-1) for n>1 is the recursive formula because it requires you to find the previous term(s) , f(n-1) in order to compute f(n). f(n) = 35 n is the explicit formula because it allows you to directly plug in numbers to find values of f(n).

OpenStudy (oleg3321):

that was for the first one @ikram002p

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

cool that was correct :) now make a table using this formula to find f(n) f(1) = 35, f(n) = f(1) + f(n-1) for n > 1 |dw:1407181196752:dw|

OpenStudy (oleg3321):

ok.then what? can you please show me he steps because ill understand like hat better @ikram002p

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

ok ill show f(1) =35 f(2) =f(1 ) +35 =70 f(3)=f(2)+35 =115 could u do f(4) and f(5) ?

OpenStudy (oleg3321):

not really theres so many numbers it gets me confused. please show me how t do f(4) and f(5)

OpenStudy (oleg3321):

@ikram002p

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

well f(n)=f(n-1)+35 f(4)=f(3)+35=115+35=150 f(5)=f(4)+35=150+35=183

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

fill them in the table :D

OpenStudy (oleg3321):

ok and then what do you do then

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

Use the recursive formula to make a table of values for 1 ≤ n ≤ 5. Show your calculations. Explain what your table means. This tables shows Bill savings in te first 5 weeks |dw:1407182206261:dw| done with the second question ^^
