Which figure can serve as a counterexample to the conjecture below? If one pair of opposite sides of a quadrilateral is parallel, then the quadrilateral is a parallelogram? Rectangle Rhombus Trapezoid Square

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Trapezoid better example will be trapezium

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks, and what about for the first one??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope for the first one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

q= x is NOT a whole number, while the expression is "if x is a whole number" that means ~q , got it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and p = "x^2=21" so that \(x^2\neq 21\) is ~p combine them you have :

OpenStudy (anonymous):

???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

~q ~p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

~q-->~p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah haha sorry I couldnt find the right keys!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, as long as you got it, the small mistake is nothing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've got a quick question for this problem would you just have to find c, the hypotenuse?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because when I do that it comes out to 68, but it is asking for the new pipeline so I'm not quite sure what to do, I know there is suppose to be subtracting taking place somewhere between these numbers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

68 miles is the length of the old one, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the new one is 60+32=92 miles, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, the different between them is??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

24!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HAha great thanks!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pay attention at the question: they ask about "how many EXTRA miles"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How would you solve this, Two angles of a triangle have measures of 55° and 65°. Which of the following could not be a measure of an exterior angle of the triangle? 115o 120o 125o 130o What I did was draw a triangle like this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1407211149138:dw| its not supposed to be a right triangle... but thats the best I could do in a short amount of time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought it would be 130, because everything below that equals 180 or falls underneath 180, 130 is the only one that goes over 180.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahahaha... are ....you....so...tired??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, I have slept probably, 5 hours the past three days combined.
