Can someone check my work? WILL GIVE MEDAL! 1. Provide three unique examples of polynomials of varying degree and classification. a. State the classification of each. b. State the degree of each. Answers: 14x a. Monomial b. 1 2. 14x + 7x^2 a. Binomial b. 3 3. 14x + 7x^2 + 2x a. Trinomial b. 4

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Select only the term with the highest degree to report. You have Degree 1, Degree 2, and Degree 2. No adding the degree of TERMS. FACTORS is a different story. x^2 + x^3 is Degree 3 (x^2)(x^3) is Degree 5

OpenStudy (mikurout):

Both 2nd and 3rd options are binomials that is of degree 2.

OpenStudy (mikurout):

1st one is right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

degree is found by the highest exponent, so which ever is your highest exponent is going to be your state of degree, btw.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@tkhunny @mikurout so the degrees for the 2nd and 3rd option are wrong?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Asked and answered. Look at them again and fix them.

OpenStudy (mikurout):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks to both of you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@tkhunny can i ask you one more question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mikurout are you sure that the classification for option 3 is a binomial

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because i thought it was a trinomial

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

It is a trinomial as written. It can be simplified to a binomial.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks that's what i thought
