Can someone please help me. Find all polar coordinates of point P where P = ordered pair 5 comma pi divided by 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@precal please I don't understand this

OpenStudy (precal):

satellite already explained it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I know but I didn't understand the last part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@OOOPS

OpenStudy (precal):

polar coordinates have many labels unlike (x,y) coordinates so (2,3) where as polar coordinates because you can keep rotating and going across I think the polar line have different names

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then next part is a little hard for me to explain here but −5 means go you off in the opposite direction, so you would have to add π to the angle to switch is back the other one will be (−5,π3+(2n+1)π)

OpenStudy (precal):

Satellite already gave you the solution, just read it again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why did he add pi though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1407284299219:dw| the number stands for the length of the radius of the circle, in your case it is 5, got it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes is 5 the biggest or it can be bigger than 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

number can be whatever, not just 5 Now, the angle, |dw:1407284522704:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh okay it's making more sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you sweep the hand of the angle, the direction show the positive number, for example |dw:1407284698592:dw|
