In a recent census, New York City had a population of 8,336,697 people, and an area of 302.64 square miles, while London had a population of 3,792,621, and an area of 469 square miles. What are the population densities (to the nearest person) of the two cities?
the population density will be in person(s)/mi^2 so, just divide the people by the mi^2 round to the nearest whole number
@agreene thats what i tried but i got it marked wrong.
what were your answers?
@agreene 27547 people per mi^2 and 80867 people/mi^2
8086 for the 2nd, i assume you meant... not sure why those would be incorrect
actually i suppose you'd round up to 8087
yeah thats what i meant. But yeah i'm not sure why its not correct. @agreene
the only thing i can think of is on the 1st one they wanted you to truncate and not round on the 0.5 but yeah.... no real idea. you did it correctly and got the correct set of answers
