Under a dilation, triangle XYZ where X(1, 3), Y(-2, -4), and Z(5, -2.5) becomes triangle X’Y’Z’ where X’(2.5, 7.5), Y’(-5, -10), and Z’(12.5, -6.25). What is the scale factor for this dilation? Answer 2.5 -2.5
Sorry... The possible answers are as follows: (a) 2/5 (b) -2/5 (c) 2.5 (d) - 2.5

The use of pesticides in farms to promote crop growth is causing detrimental harm to the bee population. This must stop. The following essay will outline the reasons explaining why pesticides are causing a decrease in bee numbers, and what will happen if we continue to kill of bees. Pesticides are causing bees to disappear, and, eventually, die. Before the use of pesticides, bees flourished, but in the last 50 years, there has been a significant decrease in their numbers. Where are they going? Bees rely on their memory to find the hive after collecting pollen and nectar, but as they consume the pesticides sprayed on plants, the chemicals affect their brain. The bees are unable to remember where the hive is, making it nearly impossible for them to return. Alone, bees don’t stand a chance against the forces of nature, and man. Pesticides are killing of bees in different ways as well. Scientists found 35 different pesticides in the pollen that bees collect. They also found that the more pesticide filled pollen that the bees bring back to the hive, the more infections there are, causing even more honeybee deaths. Some say that farmers should continue to use pesticides, as they kill of harmful insects that would kill crops. “Without pesticides”, they argue, “crop yield will be smaller, hurting the economy.” While this is true, in some ways, they do not address the fact that pesticides are not only killing pests, but also insects that are crucial to our survival on this planet. The way humans treat honeybees now will affect our future – and not in a good way. 70% of crops are pollinated by bees – if the bees disappear, so will the crops. In conclusion, bees are incredibly important – pollinizing the plants and creating honey. Without bees, the plants die. Without plants, herbivores die. Without herbivores, carnivores. Humans, omnivores, would die out without bees, proving just how important they are to the stability of the planet. We must stop using pesticides and protect what is left of the bee population – before it is too late.
