OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay what is the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@tejasvir

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know how to find teh slope of a graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay np:) so pick two points on the line and tell me which ones you choose

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8 and 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean two coordinate points

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay can u tell me if 2,0 is on the line ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let me know if you need help finding (2,0) on the graph id be happy to help:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i found it but i dont know what to do now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so is it on the line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is right. so now see if ( -8, -4 ) is on the line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tell me if it is on the line or not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are u sure? im pretty sure it is. check again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i mean -4,-8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is on the line:) sorry my bad! okay so now we have 2 points that are on the line right? so to find the slope of a line we only need to points:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then what do i do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay to find the slope |dw:1407456282252:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so take 2,0 --> 2 is your x2 and 0 is your y2 and plug those into the equation... then take -4,-8 ---> -4 is x1 and -8 is y1 .. plug that into the equation. let me know if you get stuck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-4/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0-(-8)=8 2-(-1)=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey ! sorry i had to go somewhere. do you still need help:)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes please! @tejasvir

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay let me show you how i calculated the slope and tell me if that makes sense okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay sounds good
