Got a technical question here. I figured out the answer for my problem but I'm not sure if I should enter it - or +. There is a table with temperatures and I had to answer some questions based on the table. Here is one of the questions: How much lower was the 6 a.m temperature in Juneau than Malibu? Then there is a blank box where I put my # answer and it has the word "lower" right behind it. I'm not sure if I should put -88 or just 88. It would either be -88 lower or 88 lower. I hope this isn't to dumb of a question! Thanks for any help

Looks like the absolute value will work. I'd go with 88 degrees. It's not -88 degrees lower, but it is a total of 88 degrees lower than the original.

Thanks for the input! My brain is getting weirded out by which one to pick!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Any other inputs out there?

OpenStudy (phi):

though nobody talks this way, -88 lower means 88 higher

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm your right. like a negative - negative?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. -88 lower is a double negative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I might as well just do 88?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In my opinion, yeah.

Thank you!
