Fix the sentence by following the apostrophe rule. The movies ending was kind of disappointing, considering how great its beginning was. The movies' ending was kind of disappointing, considering how great its beginning was. The movie's ending was kind of disappointing, considering how great it's beginning was. The movie's ending was kind of disappointing, considering how great its beginning was. The movies ending was kind of disappointing, considering how great it's beginning was.

Apostrophes are often used to show possession of one or more things. When it is for one thing, it is correct to use "'s". If for more than one thing, or for the possession of a word that ends in an s, "s'" is correct. Examples: One object: The book is her's. More than one: It is the Millers' house.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

With that said, which one do you believe is correct? (:

OpenStudy (magbak):

I was gonna say it was B

OpenStudy (magbak):

am I right

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

It is one object, though.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Movie doesn't end in an s, either. :p

OpenStudy (magbak):

im confused

OpenStudy (magbak):

@Whitemonsterbunny17

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Sorry, something totally weird happened with os.. a glitch or something. Anyway.. So, if you are using an apostrophe to show the possession of one object, use "'s". Examples: The book is \(\bf\color{lime}{her's}\). \(\bf\color{lime}{Maria's}\) dress is beautiful. \(\bf\color{lime}{Luke's}\) car is really cool. Our \(\bf\color{lime}{teacher's}\) shirt looked really nice.

OpenStudy (magbak):

so is it C or A

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Is the movie a singular object? Or is it more than one (plural)?

OpenStudy (magbak):

I think it is singular

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Yes. So it would follow the singular object rule for apostrophes that I just posted above, meaning the apostrophe would be where?

OpenStudy (magbak):

so it is B like I said

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Yes. (:

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Wait, no. It is 's. Movie's.

OpenStudy (magbak):

ok could you help me with a few more questions or do you have to leave ill medal you

OpenStudy (magbak):

yea that's B

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Oh, the question is formatted weird. Yeah, B is right.

OpenStudy (magbak):

@Whitemonsterbunny17 could you give me a medal please for the questions

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

I did :p

OpenStudy (magbak):

oh thanks im sorry

OpenStudy (magbak):
