What can be said about a redox reaction that has a positive potential? A. Energy must be added to cause the reaction. B. The reaction will be spontaneous. C. The reaction will be nonspontaneous. D. Both half-reactions must have positive potentials. I'm 99% sure its B.

sorry guys for the overload of questions. I have a really important exam tomorrow

OpenStudy (jfraser):

it is B, GJ

OpenStudy (jfraser):

the equation that verifies this is \[\Delta G = -nFE^0\]

OpenStudy (jfraser):

if \(E^0\) is positive, n is always positive, and F is always positive, then \(\Delta G\) will be negative, thus the reaction is spontaneous

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you're awesome at chemistry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for the explanation

OpenStudy (jfraser):

I try, TY
