Can someone help me please? Triangle ABC is similar to triangle DEF. Using the image below, prove that parallel lines have the same slope. You must show all of your work to receive credit.

Slope equals change in y divided by the corresponding change in x Note that one triangle hypotenuse has a slope of -2/2 or -1 The other has a slope of -4/4 again a slope of -1. Both lines have equal slope (-1) therefore by definition the they are parallel. Now if we are talking the vertical and horizontal lines that make up the legs they too are parallel as the horizontal lines have a slope of 0 and the vertical lines have a undefined slope so they would be parallel also.

thank youuu loveyy!!!! could you help me with one more?

OpenStudy (redneckoutlaw):

Sure, i dont see why not. and welcome :D

A small sinkhole has formed close a heavily travelled street. The city plans to fence it in to keep citizens from putting themselves in danger. What is the perimeter of a triangular-shaped fence the city can place around the sinkhole, using integer coordinates (no decimals) on the grid? You must show all work to receive credit.

Graph?
