OpenStudy (anonymous):

Explain why the equation of a horizontal line is y = b.

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

because b stands for y intercept

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

take any 2 points on any line that says `y=number` and plug them into a slope formula. Do not get fooled by my purple title though, I am not a pro at all :)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Have fun !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because any point on a horizontal line looks like \((x, b)\) where\(x\) can be anything but \(y\) has to be \(b\) so the line is called "\(y\) is \(b\)" i.e. \(y=b\)
