What would be the first thing you would do if you are burned by a chemical while performing a lab experiment?
\(\Huge\color{green}{Welcome~to~Openstudy}\)
take sodium pellet and apply on the burnt area..!!!
Go to the refrigerator. Grab milk. Pour it on the burn - Skin burn
you dont get milk in the chemical laboratory @oOKawaiiOo
......... i guessss
This is a chemistry question though...
I keep milk in my lab fridge... Really it depends on what type of chemical it is--if it is oxy reactive... putting water on it would be a terrible idea. Generally, if it is something that is gonna burn you, you should be wearing the proper equipment to make sure this doesnt happen. Let's say you get some low mole \(\sf H_2SO_4\) (sulfuric acid) you cant really do anything about it, you can put it under water and soap if you want--but it wont really do anything; it's gonna burn and give you a red spot for a few days...but u'll be fine no matter
any acid sodium works well once my professor got an accident in the lab - sulphuric acid fell in her eyes then she asked us to get a sodium pellet with which her eye got cured so i knew it
Hey Deepika's answer is totally wrong! Sodium is very bad for the skin! Its burns the skin!
The first step is to clean the burned area with cool water. If the chemical is an acid, you apply a base like soap. If it is a base, you clean it with water and go to the doctor ( in both cases)
