OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

For phase shift, refer to SHIFTS: f(x)= ∛x ⇒ f(x)= ∛(x \(\normalsize\color{blue}{ +~\rm{c} }\) ) , c units left. f(x)= ∛x ⇒ f(x)= ∛(x \(\normalsize\color{blue}{ -~\rm{c} }\) ) , c units right. f(x)= ∛x ⇒ f(x)= ∛(x )\(\normalsize\color{blue}{ -~\rm{c} }\) , c units down. f(x)= ∛x ⇒ f(x)= ∛(x )\(\normalsize\color{blue}{ +~\rm{c} }\) , c units up. STRETCHES. f(x)= ∛x ⇒ f(x)= \(\normalsize\color{blue}{ \rm{a} }\)∛x , when `│a│> 1` stretches vertically. f(x)= ∛x ⇒ f(x)= \(\normalsize\color{blue}{ \rm{a} }\)∛x , when `│a│< 1` stretches horizontally. the period, I forgot....

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

you are reflecting (should say just mirroring) the plain sine function, because you have a negative sign. Then you are making it open with like an acute angle (as opposed to an obtuse angle). and you are shifting it 5 units down after that.
