MEDALS AND FAN Sine is positive in quadrants I and II only. True False can someone explain this please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This refers to the unit circle. If you've covered that you'll know what it looks like. If not its attached :) Different ones (Sine, Cos, Tan) are positive or negative in different quadrants.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SO IT WOULD BE FALSE?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THANK YOU SOO MUCH can you help me with just one more

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When Θ = 5 pi over 3, what are the reference angle and the sign values for sine, cosine, and tangent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

these where the only ones I had trouble on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@JFlaus ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The reference angle is 60 degrees. You should be able to work it out from there ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um not really do i plug it in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

See the unit circle I attached above? The reference angle is theta. Depending on what quadrant you're working in you need different calculations. I attached an image to this message that shows you how to find the sign angle for each quadrant. Based on your knowledge from your question before you should be able to gwt it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you soo much

No Problem :)
