A circle is centered at the origin and contains the point (-6, 0.) Use complete sentences and proper grammar to give a justification as to whether or not the point (4, 4.5) lies on the circle. Show any calculations used.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

If the center is origin, or the point (0,0), and the point (-6,0) is on the circle, that means that the radius is 6 units. Use the distance formula, for points between (0,0) and (4,4.5) and if the distance won't be equal to 6, then the point is not ton the circle. You do the sentences.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Another way to do this, is √(4² + 4.5²)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

It is a bit off the circle. I am not doing your sentences though. This is on you.
