what is fifference b/w genomic library and genetic library ?
@BIOCRYSTAL @deepika.comet
i have no idea of this genetic library..and i don't know if such terminology exists..? what do you say @deepika.comet
there is genomic library and cDNA library..i am not sure of this genetic library
@saroash. according to me.. genetic library has not yet found the genomic library is the collection of total genomic DNA from a single organsim..
http://www.majordifferences.com/2013/11/difference-between-genomic-and-cdna.html look this for differences b/n genomic library and cDNA library
i read a line in my book "a particular probe can be used to search a genetic library for certain gene" its puzzling me actually

@superhelp101 no 1 is helping :(
genomic library is a collection or a group of bacteria that is genetically engineered to hold the entire DNA of an organism. (do you know what genetically engineered is, because i could explain that if you want). I think you mean gene libraries instead of genetic libraries. Gene libraries are A random collection of DNA fragments, typically representing the entire genome of an organism, that have been inserted into a cloning vector. Here is some more info http://www2.westminster.ac.uk/~redwayk/lectures/gene_libraries.htm
i read a line in my book "a particular probe can be used to search a genetic library for certain gene" its puzzling me actually help me understnding this
ya i understand geneticaly engineered :)
Oh I think your book might refer genetic library to genome library.
hmm i cd b ... ok if i use word genome library it bcmz a particular probe can be used to search a genome library for certain gene.. how a probe cd b helpful in it
genome library of a certain gene .. can u maike understand it?
I think this website is good http://www.copewithcytokines.de/cope.cgi?key=gene%20library And this definition I found might help A genomic library is a collection of the total genomic DNA from a single organism. The DNA is stored in a population of identical vectors, each containing a different insert of DNA.
i got this stuff from the site u recomnded :) :- Detection of an individual clone in a library can be achieved by employing strategies of nucleic acid hybridization in which short chemically synthesized labeled oligonucleotides (which is probe) are used to detect complementary sequences in individual cells or phages containing an insert. The sequences of such oligonucleotides used to identify the desired gene in the library can be derived, for example, from known protein sequences according to the rules of the genetic code it helped me understanding use of probe :)
i m realy realy thankful @superhelp101 :)
You're welcome !!!! ;)
