how is a reference point defined?

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

A Reference Point is something you use to determine the position of an object in respect to you

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

take an example :- |dw:1407949975022:dw| when the lift is moving upward,in respect to you,the person next to you is at rest but for a observer which is not in the lift ,see that you and your friend(next to you) is moving upwards. So,reference object or point is you as you and your friend is at rest and also reference point is an observer also as he/she is not moving but he/she knows that you and your friend is moving upwards. and also WE CAN TAKE REFERENCE POINT OR OBJECT TO ANYONE. THERE IS NO CONDITION FOR CHOOSING REFERENCE POINT. AND REMEMBER WHEN YOU CHOOSE REFERENCE POINT,FROM THAT POINT YOU OBSERVE THINGS.
