Will give a medal!! Please help!! What do the numbers listed for an element on the periodic table represent? The number with a higher value is the number of protons and the number with a lower value is the number of neutrons. The number with a higher value is the number of electrons and the number with a lower value is the number of protons. The number with a higher value is the mass and the number with a lower value is the number of protons. The number with a higher value is the number of protons and the number with a lower value is the mass.(i think it's this one??)

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Close. I think it is C.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

The whole number is the number of protons which is lower than the atomic mass.

OpenStudy (jfraser):

Do you mean this kind of notation? \[^{32}_{16}S\]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@JoannaBlackwelder Yes yes perfect! Thank you! You're totally right because on the periodic table H is the first element and the higher value is 1.008 which is about the atomic mass number of H and Hydrogen also has 1 proton.... Thank you again!!

@JFraser Thank you anyways!! :)

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

No worries :)
