Why does the Fifth Amendment matter today? It prevents people accused of crimes from being sent far away to plead their case alone in front of a single judge. The amendment protects the rights of children and minors that are not covered by other language in the Constitution. Without this amendment, it would not be possible to pass laws to protect our right to use new technologies and ideas. If it didn’t exist, an innocent person could be forced to speak at their trial and may say something bad out of nervousness.
The Fifth Amendment gives us right to a jury, except in cases in the land or naval forces, militia, or during war and public danger. I believe that it's A, "It prevents people accused of crimes from being sent far away to plead their case alone in front of a judge." https://www.rutherford.org/constitutional_corner/amendment_v_rights_in_the_face_of_government_overreach/ *Check that link out if you would like to know more about the fifth amendment* :]
OKAY THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSS x , so its a?
Why did early Americans write the Constitution and Bill of Rights? They wanted to convince Great Britain to let them have independence without further fighting. They needed to set up a new government and wanted to be sure it could not abuse their rights. They planned to use it to place limits on the actions of the British king and the soldiers present. They established a new government and restricted citizen rights to calm and stop the warfare. this is the next one..lets just say im not so good with this :/
I think so, because it's the amendment where a person accused of a crime has the right to a grand jury.
True True!...
is it B?
Thats what i think..........
Also, for that question, I am stuck between A and B.
oh... okay... i feel like its b.. i'm just gravatating towards that one..
Yup, I think so too
How does the Tenth Amendment benefit you today? You will have the right to a jury trial if accused of a crime. It allows state governments to provide free education. You have the right to ignore parent and teacher rules. It allows state governments to ignore citizen rights do you know this one.
is it A?
The tenth amendment gives the states all legislative authority which has not been explicitly given to the federal government in the constitution.
So the authority is divided between the states and the federal government
oh, that makes a lot more sense :)
Thank the lord I payed attention in civics. I think it's B or D, but it can't be D because everybody has rights, so it's most likely B.
That's what i was thinking!! i'll let you know!
Alright
Why does the First Amendment matter today? It protects people’s right to say whatever they want even if it threatens public safety. It protects people’s right to own and use weapons for the defense of self and family. Without it, people could not share ideas freely on the Internet without risking arrest. Without it, people could not seek protection from police or the military for anything. theres this one
is this ....C?
Right\
Yeah, it's C.
thanks!
No prob :)
"The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election for President or Vice President, for electors for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State by reason of failure to pay poll tax or other tax."—Twenty-fourth Amendment What was the effect of this amendment? It stopped states from preventing former slaves and poor people from voting. It stopped any state from disallowing women to vote in national elections. It allowed any state to charge a fee to someone who wished to vote. It allowed states to limit who could vote by age, gender, or race this are the other one
