HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the length of side AD??

@cj49

@nikato

OpenStudy (nikato):

if you look at trinagle ABC, it is a 30 60 90

OpenStudy (nikato):

which means BC is half of the hypotenuse so BC=30

OpenStudy (nikato):

then use pythagoreom theorem to find AC then subtract 30 from your answer to find AD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@cj49 can you help me understand what he's saying

OpenStudy (cj49):

let me try

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (nikato):

|dw:1407967681519:dw| theres a theorem that states the side opposite that 30 degree angle is half the hypotenuse

OpenStudy (nikato):

|dw:1407967781228:dw| does this make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i guess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@nikato

OpenStudy (nikato):

|dw:1407967928922:dw| since you know the hypotenuse is 60 and one of the leg is 30, you can use the pythagoreom theorem to find the other leg AC
