will metals conduct electricity in liquid form?

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Yes Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquid_metal

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

Yes, because in molten metals there are free electrons to carry charge like in solid ones The best example is Mercury. But in solid state ,it is completely opposite i mean in solid state, metals can't conduct electricity. https://in.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070119023504AAjaH9E

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

hope you understand. @holitorro

OpenStudy (mokeira):

Yes. Molten or liquid metal will conduct electricity very well. The high thermal energy will push lots of electrons in the metal into the conduction band, or will lower the conduction band to the point where lots and lots of electrons can be in it. (It depends on which way you prefer to look at the situation.)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

absolutely yes. because in liquid form metal has its free electrons too. that conduct electricity.
