wha tmeasures acceleration on a speed time graph

OpenStudy (jfraser):

how can you measure velocity from a position-time graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

getting the rate of change in speed with respect to change in time, also known as slope...\[a=\frac{r_2-r_1}{t_2-t_1}\]where \(a\) is acceleration \(r_2,r_1\) are speeds \(t_2,t_1\) are times

OpenStudy (anonymous):

acceleration is how much there is change in speed every second so if graph of velocity with respect to time is a straight line parallel to time axis, then there would be no change in speed every second. in every second, body covers equal amount of speed... but if graph of speed is a straight line passing through origin, then in every second velocity is changing. then, velocity changes from \[v _{1} \] to \[v _{2} \] and acceleration is how much there is change in speed per unit time. thus \[a=v _{2}-v _{1}/t\].
