Can someone check over my work?
Not sure on the history but there are little grammar and spelling issues bothering me in the first paragraph. >The people in King Louis xvi were being heavily taxed There were people inside of the king?!? >Any time a pheasant bought salt, they would be forced to pay a tax to the king. peasant* Pheasants are birds, lol.
lol wow i can't believe i mde those mistakes!! That was really what i was looking for. Thank you!
Haha, that's what I was wondering @bibby And it's King Louis XVI*
hopefully @ManImStumped can help out with the history part lol
Thanks guys!
Also, for English assignments, its a general rule to have your numbers written, so: There were five* main taxes that people were paying There were the first* class And I'll try to help on the History part. You need to go a little more in depth.
about what?
So here's a better way to write the first one: The people in King Louis XVI's kingdom were being heavily taxed. There were five main taxes that people were paying. There was the taille tax, where the people would pay the king to live in his kingdom. Then, there was the Corevee tax; the peasants would be required to work without pay for the local noble or aristocrat. There was also the Gabelle tax. This tax was specifically for salt. In thise days, salt was very valuable. Any time a peasant bought salt, they would be required to pay a tax to the king. The franc-fief was a tax that was required for a commoner to hold an establishment. This would make it very difficult for peasants to start a business or to make a lot of money with one. Lastly, there is the tithe. This is technically not a tax, but, since the church and the state were one, it became a tax. It was a payment made to the church in honor of God. The second: There were three groups of people in King Louis XVI's kingdom. There was the first class, made up of the rich and the religious people. They didn't have to pay any taxes. Then there was the second class, also known as the middle class. They were the ones who were neither rich nor poor. They had to pay little to no taxes. Lastly there was the third class, who didn't have enough money to feed their families. Yet, they were the most heavily taxed, forced to pay all taxes to the king. The third (add sources, quotes, etc. Maybe an example or two): It was often said that King Louis would have big balls and feasts while there were people on the streets searching for money and food. He favored the rich and religious people and turned a blind eye on those who actually needed help. If you were poor, then life under the leadership of the king was tough and he was not a likable guy. If you were rich, on the other hand, life would have been a breeze and the king was a decent man.
All your information is legitimate, but you'll need to add a couple of examples to the second and third paragraph.
