What are the primary differences between how plants and animals deal with cell structure and metabolism?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@quickstudent The major difference in cell structure is the near 100% lack of cell walls in animal cells and nearly 100% presence of cell walls in plant cells. Another major difference is that most, but *NOT* all plants are autotrophs. This means that they capture energy from a inorganic source to make the organic compounds that life uses for energy (sugars). So, plants also have chloroplasts, the organelle that does this. Still, plants have to metabolize sugar for energy (in form of ATP, typically), just as animals. This process requires a mitochondria (in eukaryotes). So, both plants and animals have mitochondria.
