sin^-1(-1) =?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

this mean the angle(s) whose sine is -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is 1?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

no - sorry that diagram is confusing the angle whose sine is 1 is actually 90 degrees angle whose sine is -1 is -90 degrees or as positive angle its 270 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is 3pi/2

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

in radians yes

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

actually thats the lowest angle with sine -1 you could keep adding another 2pi ( one more revolution) add infinitum so in general form the answer is 3pi2 + 2npi where =0,1,2,3....

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

* 3pi/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks

OpenStudy (cwrw238):
