2<x<4 1<y<3 add: 3<x+y<7 upper limit for x+y is 7. What is the lower limit for x - y? The minimum of (x-y) occurs when x is smallest and y is the biggest. 2-3 = -1 minimum of (x-y) is -1. The ratio will be 7/(-1) = -7. So I think the answer is none of the above.
