does anyone wanna help me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi kirby. i remember you.

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

what kind of question do you have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

geometry.

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

ask away ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

give me a minute.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. PB has endpoints at –2 and 12. What is the coordinate of its midpoint? 2. The midpoint of CD is E(–1, 0). One endpoint is C(5, 2). What are the coordinates of the other endpoint?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well for question 1 you need an ordered pair as endpoints... (-2, ?) and (10, ??) and for question 2 (x + 5)/2 = -1 (y + 2)/2 = 0 solve for x and y

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

For 1) I'm guessing this is like on a number line? The midpoint formula would be: \[\large\frac{x_1+x_2}{2} \], so plug in \(x_1 = -2\) and \(x_2 = 12\) 2) For coordinates (x, y), the apply the midpoint formula to each coordinate: Given the information in your problem, you can set it up as: \[ -1 = \frac{5+x_2}{2}\] and \[0 =\frac{2+y_2}{2} \] and solve for \(x_2\) and \(y_2\)
