the train is not charging for the 1st 2 miles when leaving. how do you write the function
What does that even mean? Please explain that very strange sentence!
uh so like uh For the first two miles the fare is free
how do you write a function showing the cost for riding the train x miles
@IMStuck
@Hero
Post the complete question.
f(x) = 0 for 0 < x <= 2, where x = miles train travelled
toThe train is discounting fares by not charing for the first 2 miles of the ride. Write a function representing the cost of the train trip home
x = miles train travelled f(x) = cost of train trip
not f(x)= x-2?
Nope f(x) = 0, 0 < x <=2 according to the information you provided.
ohhhh thanks
so will the graph be v shaped?
how would you write the rest of the equatin like if the train ride is 5 miles or like 3 miles
You haven't given enough information to write the rest of the function. You only provided enough information to write for the first 2 miles.
Any other questions?
ohhh i guess i haven't really understood the question yet THANKS
total fare to be paid = (no. of miles -2 free)* cost per mile charged
repost f(x) = 0 for 0 < x <= 2, where x = miles train travelled this is also true this was given.
ok so I gave the cost of leaving I wrote total fare to be paid. From a later post., the real question is Write a function representing the cost of the train trip home. The trip home does not include any kind of discount so it would be f(x) = x* cost per mile where x is the distance traveled
