Thorium 234 has a half life of 24 days and a beginning sample of 64-g. I need to know the total number of days after each half life and mass remaining after each half life.

OpenStudy (jfraser):

the number of days after each half-life will be equal to the total number of days? After one half-life, 24 days has passed, and half of the 64g sample remains. After another half-life, ANOTHER 24 days has passed, (so how many total?) and half of THAT remaining sample still remains. Just keep dividing the mass in half for each half-life, and adding 24 days to every time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 half life = 24 days = 32 g left 2 half lives = 48 days = 16 g left 3 half lives = 72 days = 8 g left 4 half lives = 96 days = 4 g left 5 half lives = 120 days = 2 g left 6 half lives = 144 days = 1 g left 7 half lives = 168 days = 1/2 g left and so on
