A change in a sequence of DNA bases in a bacterial cell has resulted in a mutation. This mutation has increased the ability of the bacteria to break down and digest organic molecules in the environment. Bacteria with this mutation are better able to find and utilize food sources. According to the theory of natural selection, what is MOST likely to occur in future generations of this bacteria?
If it has developed a resistance, then it will most likely pass this new mutation onto other generations. Those without the mutation will die while those with the mutation will go on.
LOL ^^^ The bacteria would be more suited for the environment and MOST likely to strive and produce more offspring than bacteria that dont have the mutation. Over time, the number of bacteria that has the mutation will increase, while others will decrease.
I don't see what's so funny here.
