I use it all the time. It's relatively easy from Celsius to Fahrenehit. (9/5)Cº + 32 = Fº This is easier than the other way because division by five it usually pretty simply. 40ºC Divide by 5 8 Multiply by 9 72 Add 32 104ºF -40ºC Divide by 5 -8 Multiply by 9 -72 Add 32 -40ºF Here's one that doesn't come out quite so nicely. 36ºC Divide by 5 7.2 <== You can get only .0, .2, .3, .4, or .8. There are no other possibilities. Multiply by 9 63 + 1.8 = 64.8 Add 32 96.8ºF
I usually remember this series \[\frac{ C }{ 100 }=\frac{ F-32 }{ 180 }=\frac{ K-273.15 }{ 100 }\]
