first subtract 3 from either side of the inequality sign... post the new inequality here...
yeah he is right i had that question before and thats wht i did
\[-5x + 3 <= -2==> -5x > -5 ==>x<=1\]
and if for instance x=0 (which is <=1): -0+3 <=-2 is NOT true
@MrNood :Here' its ask to solve for x..not to prove the results of the EQN. and one more thing zero when indepentdently written(as you wrote ) is neither -/+..this question is little flawed and do requires some rigors
but your solution says the answer is x<=1 I showed you an example (X=0) which is not true for your solution also x=-1 x=-1.5555555 etc. I am trying to politely say I think your solution is wrong
I think when you negate an INEQUALITY you need to reverse the sense....
I'm not saying that you are wrong...you are absolutely right...that question implies some kind of limits I guess
No - there is a simple solution - but there is an error in your logic After subtracting 3 we have: -5x <= -5 or -x <= -1 but you cannot multiply by -1 ... if -x <= -1 then x> 1
BTW - this shows the value of checking your answers after getting a solution n... ;-)
