Help please. Will give medal for correct answer. Kayla ran L laps around a 14-mile track. The equation d = 0.25L gives the number of miles she ran. If d is 1.5, which statement does NOT describe what L is? A) The unknown in the equation B) The number of laps Kayla ran. C) The length of one lap. D) the number of laps needed to run 1 1/2 miles.

@midhun.madhu1987

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, so we can eliminate B, because it would show how many laps she did

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And eliminate A, because L is our unknown

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and C because it tells you the length of a lap (d=.25L)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the answer would be D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So that means D is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait nm my bad

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D is NOT correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Really?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes really

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would be C then i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you think it is A like the other person said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well we don't know L, because you don't know how many laps she ran

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A is the unknown so it cant be A like i said before

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D is NOT correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Ozymandios any ideas which answer is correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think C if it isn't D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cant say you can go with A if you think it is best but i cant say with confidence that it is A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know what to pick A or C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ernestmitc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I honestly don't think it is A, Because in the equation you don't know what L is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ganeshie8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was C
